Raquel "Raqi" (pronounced Rocky) began her yoga practice in 2007 and received her 500-hour yoga certification through the Himalayan Institute and her 200-hr YTT certification through Rubber Soul's Adventure Club. She has completed the Warriors at Ease Level 2 Trauma Sensitive Yoga certification and earned a certificate in Holistic Nutrition. Her teaching style leans toward gentle yoga with a strength emphasis and seated mindfulness. Her hope for practitioners is to find an enhanced ease and breath both on and off their yoga mats. Raqi wears many hats: retired U.S. Army combat veteran, cancer survivor, mostly vegan, mom, wife, small group leader, prayer warrior, dog lover, full-time "encourager"... and she's been seen juggling on her yoga mat. She enjoys riding motorcycles with her husband-Dave, walking her dog-Radar, visiting family & friends, & considers herself a lifelong learner.
Mary Beth is our newest member to the Board of Directors and a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve. She is passionate about building resilience in the military and veteran community through connection and wellness. Mary Beth is a RYT 200-hour yoga teacher with specific training pertaining to military trauma. She is also a Master Resilience Trainer (MRT) and SCUBA instructor. Bottom line she is obsessed with the breath and how it can bring us peace.
Katie is our Secretary. She is a U.S. Army veteran, wife to a marine and daughter of Army veterans. Katie has a heart to serve others. She is able to do that through volunteering within her church, the big C church, Humble Warrior, and using her personal business of essential oil education. Katie and her husband Dre have three kids. They spend all their extra time on the soccer field and hiking.
Gabrielle (Gabi) is our Website, and Communication Manager. Gabrielle served in the US Army National Guard. She is a "Double Badger" having graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She holds a MLIS and works as a Teen Librarian in Wisconsin. She is a 500 hour certified Yoga Teacher, and loves exploring yoga on and off the mat. In her free time she enjoys: playing roller derby as "Braids of Glory," gardening, embroidery, reading, and searching for the best brunch spot. She enjoys outdoor activities and hopes to visit every US National Park someday.
Cheri is one of our in-house Yoga Instructors. Cheri was a born yogi. At least that is what she and her family think. Before she even took an official class she was rolling around on the floor and stretching her body in all sorts of ways. She has always been concerned for others' well being, people, animals, and the environment. In 2022 she completed her 200-hour YTT (yoga teacher training). She is passionate about introducing all people to yoga to include poses, philosophy, breath, and meditation practices. Cheri believes that practicing yoga can change the world for the better. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, her dogs, being outdoors, cooking, reading, and watching movies. Now that she is about to be an empty nester, she will add travel to that list!
