Humble Warrior is a passion of the three women founders at the right. Each woman has her unique story with a passion to provide space for women veterans and first responders to connect, renew, and thrive!

Raquel "Raqi" (pronounced Rocky) began her yoga practice in 2007 and received her 500-hour yoga certification through the Himalayan Institute and her 200-hr YTT certification through Rubber Soul's Adventure Club. She has completed the Warriors at Ease Level 2 Trauma Sensitive Yoga certification and earned a certificate in Holistic Nutrition. Her teaching style leans toward gentle yoga with a strength emphasis and seated mindfulness. Her hope for practitioners is to find an enhanced ease and breath both on and off their yoga mats. Raqi wears many hats: retired U.S. Army combat veteran, cancer survivor, mostly vegan, mom, wife, small group leader, prayer warrior, dog lover, full-time "encourager"... and she's been seen juggling on her yoga mat. She enjoys riding motorcycles with her husband-Dave, walking her dog-Radar, visiting family & friends, & considers herself a lifelong learner.
Carmen, our Reconnaissance Scout-in-Residence and active Army retiree, has been an avid runner since 2014. She has successfully broken the banners of the PNC 10-miler, three half-marathons, and five Peachtree Road Races in Atlanta, GA. She is currently training for her first full marathon and aspires to be an Ultimate Peach in 2019. Carmen enjoys playing volleyball, watching reruns of Blue Bloods, and yelling at the TV during college football games. She loves spending time outdoors and has recently fallen in love with kayaking. Other loves include laughing at YouTube doggie videos, eating her favorite food - spaghetti, grabbing a midday nap when she can, and chasing her godson around the park, Sky Zone, and Dave & Busters.
As the only nonmilitary member of the group, Teresa earned her Humble Warrior status differently. Her battlefield for thirty years was a high school English classroom where she learned humility and strove to be an encouraging warrior each day. Since retiring in 2009, she has forgotten most of her students' names; learned to read a book for enjoyment; prepared homemade dinner for her family and friends while sipping a glass of fine wine; indulged in leisurely walks, long naps, and lots of travels; and, most importantly, met, fell in love with, and married John in August 2019. They have joined together two amazing families and enjoy cooking together, traveling, and spending time with their eight grandchildren. Teresa's greatest gifts are her faith, her family, and her friends.
